Can you install an EV charger at my home?
Yes. The existing electrical supply and installation are assessed to determine the requirements for the proposed EV charging equipment.
Are you an OZEV Approved Installer?
Yes. Hoxton Electrical is an OZEV Approved Installer. Installation by an approved installer is a requirement for applicable government electric vehicle chargepoint grant schemes.
Can I claim a grant towards an EV charger?
Government chargepoint grant schemes have their own eligibility criteria covering the property, the applicant and the equipment installed. Eligibility should be confirmed against the current scheme rules before work is arranged.
Does an EV charger need a dedicated circuit?
EV charging equipment normally requires an appropriately designed circuit and protective equipment based on the charger, installation method and electrical supply.
Will my consumer unit need upgrading?
Not necessarily. The existing consumer unit and electrical installation need to be assessed to determine whether they are suitable for the proposed EV charger installation.
