Questions & answers

Commercial electrical: common questions

Answers to common questions from businesses, managing agents and property teams.

What documentation can you provide before attending a commercial site?

Where required for the job, we can provide relevant risk assessments and method statements, insurance documentation and accreditation information to support site access, contractor approval and permit-to-work procedures.

Can you work outside normal trading hours?

Out-of-hours attendance can be arranged where the electrical work or required isolation would significantly disrupt occupiers or normal business operations. Any specific working-hour requirements should be included when requesting the quotation.

How often should a commercial electrical installation be inspected?

The appropriate inspection interval depends on the type of installation, its use, environmental conditions, maintenance arrangements and the interval recommended on the previous inspection report. We can review the existing documentation and advise on the appropriate inspection requirement.

Do you undertake commercial EICRs?

Yes. Hoxton Electrical provides electrical inspection and testing for commercial premises, including EICRs, observations, remedial recommendations and subsequent corrective electrical work where required.

Do you take on smaller commercial electrical works?

Yes. We undertake both planned projects and smaller reactive works, including fault finding, lighting alterations, additional sockets, circuit alterations, equipment supplies and electrical repairs.

Can you support managing agents and facilities teams?

Yes. We work with commercial clients, managing agents and property teams requiring electrical testing, remedial works, maintenance and installation work across multiple premises.

Can you invoice against a purchase order?

Purchase order references and agreed commercial invoicing arrangements can be accommodated where agreed before the work starts.
